More Than Our Story

My Outlook For 2026

Table of Contents

As the founder of More Than Our Story, I strive to live by the ideals I promote. With that, 2026 has arrived, and I’m more optimistic than ever. I finished my last chemotherapy cycle on March 21st of this year, and have been on a watch-and-wait protocol, with my quarterly MRIs all returning stable. For 2026, I’ve set more ambitious goals and directives to challenge my body and mind while staying committed to my self-improvement and growth.

I Will Continue To:

  • Share My Feelings: I will take time to tell my friends and family what they mean to me.
  • Be Honest: I will recognize my limits and not overcommit myself.
  • Be Present: I will be physically, mentally, and emotionally present for my friends and family.
  • Be Flexible: I thrive on organization – especially with my training schedule. This year, I will strive to be more flexible with my plans and go with the flow in all areas of my life.
  • Be Positive: This year, I will continue to embrace positivity.
  • Be Grateful: I will continue my daily practice of recognizing all of the things that I am grateful for.
  • Be Mindful: I will be more mindful of my thoughts, feelings, and actions, and of how they impact those around me.
  • Be My Best Self: I will continue my daily ritual: wake up at 5 am for meditation, yoga, and exercise to ground myself for the day.
  • Be My Healthiest: I was always diet-conscious, but I will improve it, adhering to a stricter diet, eating less red meat, and cutting out alcohol.
  • Push Harder: Last year, I achieved my goal of becoming an IRONMAN, and I’ve set it again for this year. For 2026, I have two new endurance feats: 1. Complete a 100km ultramarathon, 2. Complete a 10km open-water marathon swim.
  • Make Memories: I will strive to make as many wonderful memories as possible.

I Will Not:

  • Take Things For Granted: Life is too short to do so.
  • Dwell On Things: I will take the time to reflect on what happens, then move on.
  • Stress Over Things: I will stop wasting mental energy on things I can’t control.
  • Overthink: I will trust my instincts and stay proactive rather than worry.

I’m not perfect, but by following these directives, I hope to become a better person, father, husband, and friend.

MY OUTLOOK FOR 2025:
Picture of Daniel

Daniel

Daniel is an extremely curious person, a wealth of random knowledge and facts. Extremely passionate about a vast array of interests ranging from health to history, science to athletics, everything culinary and the list goes on. Trust us, you would want to be on his team for Trivial Pursuit. Daniel is also years into his battle with brain cancer. He experienced a seizure while on a Zoom call at work in late 2020 and quite literally, his life changed within minutes. After his operation he started to talk about his story but had always known it was more than just him. From then, More Than Our Story became a PROJECT that has evolved into the starting point it is today.
